Ben is an Irish/Hispanic-American filmmaker based in Los Angeles. As a director and an editor, he gravitates to stories that highlight marginalized voices and points of view. As a photographer he’s drawn to wild landscapes, surreal portraiture, and the intersection of nature and urban environments. He also has a passion for creating immersive travel videos.
After getting his start shooting and editing branded music content for Live Nation Entertainment, Ben co-founded the production company and creative collective Ocelot. With an emphasis on music videos, branded content, and narrative shorts, Ben and his partners strive to create a healthy ecosystem of creative collaboration built on a firm belief in race and gender equality. Some of the more notable names he’s worked with include: Adidas, Under Armour, State Farm, Cisco, Hilton, and göt2b.
Ben picked up his first major editing laurel after teaming up with director Katia Badalian for the short film HEROINES, which will be competing in the Narrative Shorts competition at the 2019 South by Southwest film festival. He continues to seek out projects that challenge his world view and facilitate conversations about a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, cultural identity, socioeconomics, and geopolitics in the current global climate.
